Stayed for a week, this was week too long. Site nice and clean, caravan nr new so that was good. Staff pleasant, except on with long hair who is not a people person. Entertainment is rubbish, everyday is cut and stick, no fun and games, in the afternoon it is dead. evening is based on the kids but that is only dancing, the troupe Andy has a thing about bums and farting it wasn’t funny. In all it was boring. The grounds men are nice, but the grass could do with being cut. The playing field for kids is also the dog walking field so mind the POO. Food in the restaurant was good value, if you don’t mind sharing it with the dirt staff who use it as a canteen.
Many caravans are owners who are pleasant, but this is not a holiday park at all. Hayling itself has nothing and cost a fortune in petrol to visit anywhere.
Nice and clean site, nice staff, nice food, Entertainment was awful. Kids stuff goes on too long. During the day not much for kids, Ok if you like colouring, pasting none of the old fun and games like Butlins. Ball park was taking over by owners kids who are the main problem. Hayling has nothing to keep you so you have to go to the main land and then this cost money everytime. If it rains, they have noting to keep you entertain. Took my boys to play football, but this is where dog walkers go, so not only do you kick a ball but poo also. No holiday feel here, mostly owners. They like to advertise too much on buying a caravan, maybe this won’t be a holiday park to rent soon.
Would not come back again.
We paid an extra £204.00 for an upgrade to a so called luxury caravan. Some hopes! It was clean and that was about it, luxury it was most certainly not. It had some age to it and the seating was very well used.On closer inspection, there was not a cushion to be found. A bedroom window wouldn’t close and lock. plastic/Fablon type surfaces were peeling in places. The Van was generally very tired and shabby.Worst of all. NO plugs for the sinks!!! Having asked a security Officer at reception which was closed, I was taken to four people sitting in the club area. We don’t supply them I was told because, people put them in the sinks and turn the taps on when they leave to flood the van’s out. Having paid for an upgrade, are we the sort of people to flood a van out? I THINK NOT!!! I’ll get housekeeping to drop you some in tomorrow. I explained tha we owned holiday chalets at one point and I was well aware of the trouble some idiot’s can cause. As I was not asked which Van we were in, or the location of the Van I knew that my request would most certainly NOT be dealt with. Finally I managed to get the heating going, however, the shower room heater never did work. The Club was fine for small children however the sound system was far too loud and the entertainer loved the sound of his own amplified voice. I watched an idiot in the van opposite dump two bag’s of rubbish in the unoccupied space next to his, on the day we arrived, Monday. There they remained until we left. I used the site as a base to show my grandchildren where I served in the Royal Navy. Pompey Dockyard,HMS Victory & the Gun Wharfe etc, etc, very impressive Spinaker Tower are great value for money. Once completed we left a day early. Parkdean Hayling Island cannot be held responsible for the general behaviour of their clients, security was heavy but, had to be. Underaged teenagers trying to buy alcohol in sight of their parent’s and undisciplined unsupervised yobo’s, effing & blinding outside the club I found annoying! Would I go again, in a word, NO!!!
